Our Team

Sophia Shippam - Principal Physiotherapist

Sophia qualified as a physiotherapist in 2009 in England with a BSc Physiotherapy with honours. After moving to Australia in 2013 she started her training in the pelvic floor and pelvic health field. Over the last 3 years her area of special interest has been working with those experiencing pelvic pain conditions such as Endometriosis and Vaginismus which led to the creation of Dahlia Pelvic Physio. Sophia has a number of years' experience working in both hospital and sports settings which has given her a sound knowledge of pre-existing medical conditions and injuries. Her kind and calming nature allows patients to feel at ease quickly as she listens to their story, understanding that each person has had a unique journey with their particular condition. She provides treatment and management strategies that are based on the most current evidence in the field whilst taking a holistic approach to each individual.

This is a space for Mothers to gain an understanding of their own inner narratives and emotional responses to their birth experience and how this may impact their ability to show up as the Mother they truly aspire to be.
